Teacher education efforts earn national award
ASU's College of Teacher Education and Leadership has a long-standing commitment to Arizona's education community through a variety of collaborations, outreach and programs. For its commitment, the college received a “Best Practice Award for Effective Partnerships” by the American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education (AACTE). ASU was honored at AACTE's 59th annual meeting and exhibits in New York.

Education Partnership Office Rollout
This spring the office of the Vice President for Education Partnerships is officially rolling out the office across ASU's campuses. This rollout signals ASU's
commitment to social embeddedness through Pre K-12 education in Arizona.
AZIMASE (Arizona Initiative in Math & Science Education)
AZIMASE is a campaign in which higher education, business,
K-12 schools and teacher organizations, philanthropies and state government
will act together to upgrade the quality and outcomes of math and science
education for all Arizona students, K-20.

ASU launches public K-12 schools; Larry Pieratt leads new initiative
Larry Pieratt will lead the new University Public Schools Initiative at ASU as executive director.

Larry Pieratt, a bold educational innovator and founder of the successful Horizon Community Learning Center, will lead the new University Public Schools Initiative at ASU as executive director.
He will help the university develop an intense, research-based role in pre-K-12 education, according to ASU President Michael Crow. ASU plans to launch several research-based public schools throughout the Valley, in partnership with local school districts and the community.
